{"id":401,"date":"2022-12-02T13:18:46","date_gmt":"2022-12-02T12:18:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mandratech.xyz\/?page_id=401"},"modified":"2022-12-02T13:40:36","modified_gmt":"2022-12-02T12:40:36","slug":"take-the-way-to-gdpr-compliance","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mandratech.xyz\/?page_id=401","title":{"rendered":"Take the way to GDPR compliance"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 id=\"h-1-gdpr-compliance-what-is-the-gdpr\">What is the GDPR?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/gdpr-info.eu\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">General Data Protection Regulation<\/a>, or GDPR, is the now well-known EU law that came into effect in May 2018 with the purpose to create a uniform standard of data protection law in the European Union \u2013 and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">It lays down the rules for the protection of natural persons and their right to privacy with regard to the processing and free movement of&nbsp;<strong>personal data<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">In other words, it rules how companies and organizations are allowed to process the personal data of European citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">In a sense, the GDPR is the first uniform, legal step towards shaping&nbsp;<strong>an understanding of what data really is<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 and how we should think about it. Data is not just exhaust that giant ad tech companies can suck up for free, as has been the dominant practice for a decade on the Internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the contrary, the GDPR lays the foundation for a new way of thinking about the data we generate with our online behavior: it ultimately belongs to the user and it is therefore the user who must consent to any collection and processing of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GDPR compliance entails respecting user privacy and anonymity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Even though it is a European law, its purpose is&nbsp;<strong>data protection<\/strong>&nbsp;and the&nbsp;<strong>protection of the right to privacy<\/strong>&nbsp;for all EU citizens, and so&nbsp;<strong>any website in the world<\/strong>&nbsp;who services Europeans and process their personal data is&nbsp;<strong>required to achieve GDPR compliance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">In total, the GDPR empowers EU citizens with&nbsp;<strong>eight individual rights<\/strong>, including the&nbsp;<strong>right not to have one\u2019s personal data collected and processed without prior consent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>GDPR compliance regulates the flow of EU data on the Internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignwide size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"208\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/mandratech.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/GDPR_ISO.jpeg?resize=640%2C208&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-407\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mandratech.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/GDPR_ISO.jpeg?w=840&amp;ssl=1 840w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mandratech.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/GDPR_ISO.jpeg?resize=300%2C98&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.mandratech.xyz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/GDPR_ISO.jpeg?resize=768%2C250&amp;ssl=1 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is the GDPR?
